As part of its Pacific territories, France has been an associate member of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) since 1997.

The France Pacific Territories Committee represents the French economy and that of the Pacific island territories through its local committees in French Polynesia, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna.

The Committee regularly organizes seminars involving officials, researchers and entrepreneurs, whose recommendations inform the work of APEC, the main forum for economic cooperation in the Asia Pacific.
